- The VA funding fee on an IRRRL is only 0.5% of the loan amount — dramatically lower than the 2.15–3.3% on a VA purchase. Waived entirely for veterans with service-connected disability ratings.
- Can I take cash out on a VA IRRRL?
- No — IRRRL is rate/term only, no cash-out. For cash-out, use the VA Cash-Out Refinance which allows up to 100% LTV but requires full underwriting and a new appraisal.
